Scotland/India

Sgt. William Duigan, British Army and Family Glencorse Barracks, Scotland posted to Deolalee Camp Agra India in 1869 . He was killed in action. Wife and 7 children sent home to Glasgow. After a few years the children were placed in the Royal Glasgow Infermery [orphanage]. Then the children were split up and sent to Canada and USA to be adopted. One daughter, Williamina Duigan, made her way to Canada. Later she married Geoge Howard James in Ontario. Then moved to Alberta and later on to Vernon BC as farmers/orchardists.

From Ireland to Scotland to India and back.
Daddy died,and we are lost.
Mum can't cope so what's the hope.
Where from here all of us split up from mommy dear?
To America we go.
Will we never see again our brothers and sisters there?
But we can dream and do our best....
So it seems we have no choice,
no voice to compare our new life then
and not to cry as we say good bye.
